Itinerary

DAY 1 : New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) – Gangtok (130 km/4 hrs drive)

Arrival at the NJP/Bagdogra. After a warm welcome, our representative will drive you to Gangtok (1437 m) and escort you to the hotel. Check in at the hotel. Freshen up and relax for some time. In the evening, you can go for a stroll on the MG Marg. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 : Gangtok (Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir)

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and then at around 8 am leave for Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft/3750 m/3 hrs drive) and Baba Harbhajan Mandir( 13,200 ft/4000 m). The drive to the Lake takes you through a mountainous landscape which makes the drive pleasant.

Tsomgo is a sacred lake that attracts tourists from far and wide. It is a high altitude lake which is soaked in pristine beauty. With different seasons it reflects different hues. During winter it gets frozen while in spring it brims with life with colourful flowers in its surroundings.

Baba Harbhajan Mandir or the shrine was built in honour of a courageous Indian soldier named Baba Harbhajan Singh. He died due to extreme weather conditions while carrying supplies to a remote post near the Nathula Pass in eastern Sikkim.

After the excursion, our representative will drive you back to Gangtok. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 : Gangtok – Lachung(116 km/6 hrs drive)

Post breakfast, drive to Lachung (8800 ft), a mesmerizing mountain village hemmed in by snow-capped mountain peaks. It is famous for its lovely waterfalls, glistening streams, and apricot, peach and apple orchids. The Lachung Chu river passes through the middle of the village slicing it into two. En-route halt at Singhik View Point to capture amazing views of mount Silnoulchu and the fierce Seven Sisters Waterfall which offers awe-inspiring views. Take a break for lunch at Namok and later a tea break at Chungthang.

After reaching Lachung check in to the hotel. Freshen up and relax. You can also explore Lachung Gompa which dates back to 1880 and is set amidst apple orchard. You can also visit the handicraft center to buy beautifully woven blankets and rugs as souvenirs. Enjoy a delicious dinner which will be served at the hotel itself. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4 : Lachung – Yumthang Valley(24 km/1 hr drive) – Lachung – Gangtok

Leave for Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft), also called ‘The Valley of Flowers’ early in the morning. It is a gorgeous valley with sheer greenery encompassing a variety of flowers and trees. A charming river passes through this valley. The sights of yaks, goats and horses grazing in the grassy plains are sights to behold. Post lunch, drive back to Gangtok. On the way back, treat your senses with the beauty of Bheema and Twin Waterfalls. Check in to the hotel at Gangtok. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5 : Gangtok – Pelling(120 km/5.5 hrs drive)

After breakfast drive to Pelling, the enchanting town located in the middle of pine forest in west Sikkim. The drive from Gangtok to Pelling is refreshing as you will pass through the tea gardens, mountains, and picturesque surroundings. At Pelling witness the unparalleled beauty of the world famous Kangchenjunga. The town also has age-old monasteries on its attraction list. Check in at the hotel in Pelling.

After a long drive of more than 5 hours you might feel tired, so take rest and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 6 : Pelling (Full day local sightseeing)

Post breakfast, visit the wonderful attractions of Pelling. Spend some time at the mesmerizing Kanchenjunga waterfalls to rejuvenate your body and mind. It is surrounded with greenery and is an ideal place to have some relaxed moments. Next on the list is Sewaro rock garden soaked in serenity and beauty. Visit Darap Valley which is a treat to the eyes. The fresh air and lovely scenery of the valley are so refreshing. Take a lunch break and then continue with the sightseeing.

Now visit other attractions of Pelling- Pema Yangtse monastery, Helipad Ground, Rimbi waterfalls, Khecheopalri sacred Lake and Rabdentse Ruins. Later in the evening return to the hotel and stay overnight.

DAY 7 : Pelling – Darjeeling

After breakfast, drive to Darjeeling, the Queen of Hills. On the journey to Darjeeling, at some places, the drive is not so smooth but it’s worth it as you will drive past lovely green gardens, gushing rivers, old bridges and traditional villages. Reach the hotel in Darjeeling, check in and stay overnight.

DAY 8 : Darjeeling (Full day local sightseeing)

Start from the hotel at around 4 am to reach the magnificent Tiger Hill (2590 m) which is the highest point of Darjeeling. It offers breathtaking views of the sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. While coming back from the Hill, halt at the Batasia Loop, a spiral railway track at a beautiful location and Ghoom Monastery. Take a break for breakfast. Now continue your journey with a visit to the Japanese Temple, a Buddhist pilgrimage known for its wonderful traditional Japanese architecture. Other attractions which will be covered are Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park(closed on Thursday), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Peace Pagoda and Chitrey Tea Garden(outer view).

In the evening enjoy a leisurely walk on the Mall Road and Chowrasta. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 9 : Darjeeling – New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) (88 km/3 hrs drive)

Post breakfast, check out from the hotel and our representative will drive you back to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station(NJP)/Bagdogra Airport(IXB) – Gangtok with pleasurable memories to take back home!
